(4-7 yrs.) Join us for a cozy tea party on the farm. Bring your favorite stuffed animal, help us decorate for the party and read a story. We will enjoy drinks and cookies in a special environmentally friendly tea set and meet one of our animals.

(2-Adult) Enjoy an intimate after hours experience at the farm as day turns to night. Register for a wagon ride time and enjoy the bonfire after your ride. Staff will provide marshmallows for roasting but feel free to bring along any other treat for yourselves. All participants, including accompanying adults, must register and pay for the program.

(All Ages) Bring up to eight people and learn how to use an old-fashioned cider press by making your own cider. Your group needs to bring approximately 100 apples of their choosing and tightly sealable containers for transporting approximately 2 gallons of cider. Participants will carry and press their own apples and cider. Dress accordingly. All participants will be contacted prior to their program with full details. (13-Adult) Prerequisite: Dog Agility for the Fun of It II/Competitive Dog Agility II. Class is designed for dogs with an excellent command of all equipment and handlers ready to learn skills such as front and rear crosses, serpentines and pinwheels. Full courses are run using all of the equipment. Dogs must be able to handle each apparatus off leash. Bring dogs to first class. ~

(13-Adult) Prerequisite: Dog Obedience I. Class offers an introduction to dog agility. This class is not competition oriented. Dogs must be at least 1 year old. Dogs and handlers learn teamwork, targeting and handling skills basics. Class utilizes agility equipment. Attendance at first class is required. Bring dogs to first class. ~

(13-Adult) Prerequisite: Agility for the Fun of it I or Dog Agility I. More fun with agility sequences and obstacle performance. Dogs must know obedience behaviors sit, lie down, stay and come and be reliable off leash. Confidence in performing contact obstacles (A-frame and dog walk) is required. Bring dogs to first class. ~

(14-Adult) Prerequisite: Dog and owner must have completed a Fairfax County level I class or have permission of instructor. Dogs must be at least 8 months old and show no signs of aggression. Course will prepare the dog to successfully complete the AKC Canine Good Citizen test given on course completion. ~

(6-12 yrs.) Which animal will be elected President of the Kidwell Farm Yard? Campers will meet and learn about the farm animal candidates, create a campaign with posters and buttons, write a speech and hold and election to get a farm animal elected. the winner will pardon a turkey for Thanksgiving. Campers should bring snack, water and lunch.

(12-Adult) As we celebrate America's 250 anniversary and the legacy of freedom it represents, join us to explore the history of the free and enslaved African American members of the Frying Pan Baptist Meeting House. Learn the ways in which black congregants fought for greater freedoms within the church and how they formed their own community after emancipation. Ongoing tours will take you through the church, the surrounding grounds and will talk about the former location of the Lee house, home of an African American family who lived on the property and worshipped at the church after the Civil War.

(6-Adult) Animals make a lot of noise, but what are they really saying? Come meet our farm animals, learn how they chat, and record your own sounds to take home. Bringing a mobile phone or other device that can record audio is recommended. All participants, including accompanying adults, must register and pay for the program.

(8-Adult) A hands-on introduction to working with horses from the ground. Participants learn grooming, leading, horse communication, and daily barn care in a small-group setting. No riding involved. Participant Readiness & Safety Requirements: Participants must be able to walk independently on uneven barn footing (sand, gravel, and arena surfaces), use their hands to safely interact with a horse and equipment, follow verbal directions, and maintain safe behavior around horses and others. This program is not wheelchair accessible at this time. New participants may be contacted prior to the session to confirm program fit.

(2-Adult) Come trick or treat on the farm! Visit with farm animals, create crafts, play games, tour the decorated farmhouse and enjoy the fall on the farm. The program runs in one hour time slots. Children must be accompanied by a registered adult.   

(24-42 mos.) Children enjoy seasonal activities and crafts, and delight in the sights, sounds and smells of the holidays. Any supply fee payable to instructor at first class.

(18-30 mos.) In this special holiday session offered by Katydid your toddler explores upbeat and mellow movements, major and minor song keys, genres, tempos and rhythms. Children and their caregivers will sing, play instruments and dance with props as they learn to express themselves through music.

(2-3 yrs.) Join us to learn about a different element of farm life each week. Classes held during the same week will cover repeat topics. (7-12 yrs.) Using the FL Studio Mobile app, campers will dive into the world of electronic music production with Baroody instructors. Learn the fundamentals of building drumbeats, writing melodies, and structuring songs from scratch. No prior musical experience is necessary. Each camper will produce their own original track to share with family and friends.

(13-Adult) Be a farmer for the night and help us check on farm animals young and old. Every season has special requirements for our animals to get some extra attention. Enjoy a nighttime farm tour and learn what it takes to care for our farm animals during birthing season and beyond.

(7-Adult) Come discover what makes nocturnal animals so good at being active at night, how their senses differ from ours and test your ability to classify nocturnal vs. diurnal animals based on what you’ve learned. Bring a blanket to sit on. All participants, including accompanying adults, must register and pay for the program.

(8-Adult) Podcasts and social media platforms are changing the way we create and receive information. Radio played a very similar role in rural America during the 1920s until the dawn of television. Come see old time radios, hear the most famous broadcasts from the period and do an activity related to iconic radio broadcasts.
