With Unity, an industry-grade design software, aspiring game designers will learn level editing, 3D modeling, impactful gameplay creation, as well as how to utilize scripts and variables. Projects will be available on Black Rocket’s protected website. Returning students can create more advanced projects that build on previous years. Abrakadoodle Cartoon Creations Camp (6-12 yrs.)

(6-12 yrs.) Young artists are introduced to the creative world of cartooning by launching imaginations with funny people, imaginary animals and interesting modes of transportation. Learn about symbolism, speech bubbles, facial expressions and the art of the comic strip. Create a comic frame featuring traditional elements of characters and dialogue. Bring snack, lunch and drink. Abrakadoodle Kids on Canvas (3-6 yrs.)

(6-12 yrs.) All the world’s an Art Studio! Learn about art from US, Panama, Indonesia, Singapore, China and Japan while practicing sculpting, painting, ancient ink techniques. This camp even includes quirky robots and sleepy dogs! An art kit with the necessary supplies for the camp will be delivered to your home the weekend before the first day of camp. This camp is 2 hours with a break in the middle. Online instruction times are 10-11am and 1-2pm each day. Break time is 11am-1pm.

(6-12 yrs.) Powerful women artists inspire, create, and influence the visual arts. Learn about women trailblazers, traditional art forms, and create striking art using mixed media, collage, textiles and more! Accotink Adventure Camp (9-13 yrs.)

(9-13 yrs.) Join us for the ultimate outdoor camp! Activities include boating (learning about kayaking techniques and equipment), fishing, hiking, orienteering, off road biking, camping skills, animal tracking, reptile and amphibian identification and more. Action Movie Flix & LEGO Flix (7-13yr)

(7-13 yrs.) In the mornings, adventure awaits in these high intensity movies where we'll use a green screen, camera tricks and special effects to create a live-action movie. Collaborate to write, act and direct this stunt-packed movie with action choreography that thrills audiences. In the afternoon, we’ll bring LEGOs to life working in groups to create a LEGO stop-motion movie with voice-overs. Projects downloadable a month after camp ends. No camp July 5. Action Stop-Motion & Roblox vs Minecraft Flix

(7-13 yrs.) Start the day using stop-motion tricks to create fires, explosions and floods as characters battle it out or work together to save the day. We’ll work in small groups to storyboard, create the action, film and add voice-overs to make exciting movies. In the afternoon, campers can choose to create a Minecraft, Roblox or a mashup movie full of games or challenges for characters to overcome. Projects downloadable a month after camp ends. ACTion! Aloha Adventure Island (7-14yr)

(7-14 yrs) A summer camp by Moonlit Wings Productions. Inspired by musical hits like “Moana,” “Spongebob” and “Once On This Island,” performers put on a tropical-themed play with original scenes and new songs in this one-week camp. Moonlit Wings award-winning programs are jam-packed with opportunities for every young performer to shine, including improvisation games, character creation, talent show and more. Family members are invited to a mini-performance on the final day. Bring two snacks, lunch, drink and swimsuit/towel daily. Some pool time may be included at RECenter camps (bring swimsuit/towel). ACTion! Wonderful Wizards & Witches

(7-14 yrs.) A summer camp by Moonlit Wings Productions. Inspired by musical hits like “Wicked” and “The Descendants,” performers put on original skits and songs in this one-week camp. A great way for young performers to hone their skills through improvisation games, a talent show, music, dance and a mini performance on the final day. Bring two snacks, lunch and drink. Adapted Fun & Fit (13-22 yrs.)

(13-22yrs.) Designed for teens with developmental disabilities who can participate in a 4:1 ratio. Learn new skills through fitness activities, wellness education, and sports in a fun, social environment. Outdoor activities, crafts, and water games will also be included. The final day of camp will take place at a nearby park for nature experiences and surprise activities. Parents are responsible for transporting campers to/from the park (June week will be Frying Pan on the final day and the August week will be Riverbend Park). Advanced Golf Summer Camp (13-17 yrs.)

(13-17 yrs.) Designed for the experienced teen golfer who is trying out for or playing on their high school team. Our qualified instructors cover all aspects of golf in addition to etiquette and rules. Class fee includes all range balls and green fees for on-course instruction. Adventure Fishing Camp (10-14 yrs.)

(10-14 yrs.) Join Virginia Outside and learn beginner and intermediate tactics for fishing in different types of water such as private ponds, rivers and the Chesapeake Bay. Learn casting, knot tying and fish identification. Fishing merit badge may be earned through this program. Campers wear lifejackets when in the water or on a boat. Adventure Links Classic Adventure 8-10yr

(8-10 yrs.) Take part in a week of true adventures. The 8-10 yrs. group (Classic Adventure) enjoys a low and high ropes course, canoeing, outdoor living skills day and caving. The 11-13 yrs. group (Ultimate Adventure) enjoys a ropes course with zipline, kayaking, outdoor living skills day, caving and rock climbing.
