Earth Day Engineering with LEGO® (5-10 yrs)

(5-10 yrs.) Celebrate nature, think sustainably, and commemorate Earth Day with tens of thousands of LEGO® parts in this workshop from Play-Well TEKnologies. Campers will learn about using the Earth's resources responsibly and how to power their LEGO® creations using alternative energy sources.


3D Creations Art Camp (5 1/2-12 yrs)

(5 ½ - 12 yrs.) Join Abrakadoodle to design wind sculptures, craft squishy paper toys and sculpt colorful hearts. Explore the works of world-renowned artists like Dale Chihuly, Yinka Shonibare and Maurizio Cattelan. This camp is perfect for those who enjoy imagining big and creating boldly. No camp June 19 and July 3.


ACTion! Backstage Camp (7-14 yrs)

(7-14 yrs.)  In this NEW Moonlit Wings one-week camp, kids step backstage to explore theatre magic through stage and special effects make-up, sketching set and costume designs, and an introduction to stage management. Campers may also help create small props or set pieces while enjoying acting games and improvisation. When paired with a performing arts camp, the week ends with a Friday showcase featuring their backstage contributions (Backstage campers do not perform on stage). Supply fee: $35, payable to the camp vendor, includes a personal make-up kit and design materials. (Too old for this camp? Teens ages 14+ may register separately for our “ACTivate! Teens Behind-the-Scenes” tech track.). No camp July 3.


Adapted Tae Kwon Do (10-17 yrs.) by Vendor

(10-17 yrs.) Class is designed for students with disabilities on the high-functioning end of the autism spectrum. Students learn kicking, punching, blocking and sparring skills and forms as they improve confidence and flexibility. Martial arts uniforms are required. Extra fee for belt testing.


Adapted Tae Kwon Do I (16-Adult) by Vendor

(16-Adult) Class is designed for students with disabilities on the high-functioning end of the autism spectrum. Students learn basic kicking, punching, blocking and sparring skills and forms as they improve confidence and flexibility. Martial arts uniforms are required. Extra fee for belt testing.

(3-6 yrs) Students explore the fascinating world of plants by learning about gardening, trees, flowers, seeds, fruit and all kinds of interesting plant topics. In each class students will to do a project related to the plant world such as planting seeds, arts and crafts and much, much more. Supply fee payable to instructor at first class.


All About Horses Summer Camp (11-14 yrs.)

(11-14 yrs.) Campers learn about tacking, grooming, general horse care and barn chores and enjoy daily 30-minute riding lessons. Other horse-related activities include arts and crafts, equine speakers and breed demos. Bring snack, lunch and drink. Wear proper shoes/boots, comfortable clothes, riding breeches or long, tight stretchy pants. Spirit Equestrian provides campers with a helmet, but if you choose to bring your own helmet, it must be ASTM/SEI certified riding helmet. No camp July 3.

Amazing Acts Circus Camp (6-12 yrs)

(6-12 yrs.) This Spirit Pros camp blends the excitement of circus arts with hands-on creativity. Campers will practice on a variety of circus equipment, create balloon animals and sculptures, and learn to juggle scarves, rings, balls, and clubs. From tightrope walking and stilts to balance boards, barrels, and basic acrobatics, campers will build confidence, coordination, and showmanship in a safe and supportive environment. Rec Center camps bring swimsuit/towel for afternoon swim break. Parent note: A signed participant release is due on the first day. Camp is not recommended for children with latex allergies. No camp July 3.

Art and Architecture at Huntley

(All Ages) Join us at Historic Huntley for a celebration of arts and architecture in conjunction with the Northern Virginia chapter of the American Institute of Architects’ Architecture Month. From 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m., enjoy free tours of Historic Huntley and watch artists at work creating paintings “en plein air” (outdoors). At 3:00 p.m. attend a free reception for the artists whose paintings of the day will be available for viewing and sale. Admission to the grounds, site tours, and reception attendance are free. Please register to help us plan for the event.


Art Explorers Camp (5-7 yrs.)

Awareness through Movement-Posture & Easy Walking

(13-Adult) These gentle Feldenkrais lessons encourage a reliable upright posture by regaining flexibility and stability and ways of coordinating all body parts into consistent alignment for enjoyable walking.


Ballet & Butterflies Dance Camp (4-6yrs)

(4-6 yrs.) Start the foundation of dance with ballet. Envision Dance campers learn ballet and creative movement techniques through games and arts and crafts. We’ll also learn the cycle of butterflies during story time and dancing. Campers will put on a performance at the end of the week. No camp June 19.


Ballet Dance Camp (6-12yrs)

(6-12 yrs.) Envision ballet dance camp is for campers who would like to learn or continue learning ballet. Campers will do arts and crafts, play games, meet new friends, and learn ballet. At the end of the week campers will put on a dance performance. Bring a swimsuit and towel daily for an afternoon swim break. No camp July 3.

(8-11 yrs.) Virtual Camp. Begin your rise to the top of the charts with digital music production! Just like today's top artists, you can design your own beats or remix a mashup of your favorite songs to become a digital composer and sound engineer. Learn to produce digital music, record sound, make sound effects and mix tracks. Created soundtracks will be available on Black Rocket’s password protected website. Compatible with MAC, Windows and Chrome OS.

Birding for Beginners (12-Adult)

(12-Adult) Learn about the park's birds and some basic identification skills. This program for beginners starts with a bird identification discussion. Children age 12 to 16 must be accompanied by a registered adult.
