(6-13 yrs.) Campers explore the exciting world of Artificial Intelligence by designing and building AI-powered mobile apps. They learn how AI recognizes images, understands speech, and makes intelligent decisions. In coding, campers learn how to code their own games, animations, and interactive stories using Scratch. Stemtree’s Science Explorer Camp sparks curiosity and deepens students’ appreciation for science through engaging and hands-on learning experiences. No camp December 24, 25 and January 1.

(5-12 yrs.) Young chefs will chop, mix, whisk, and taste their way through four delicious global recipes in this hands-on, nut-free and allergy-friendly Sticky Fingers adventure. We’ll also add a fun food-themed craft or science activity for extra flavor.

(5-8 yrs.) Join The Science Seed to learn the difference in using baking soda or baking powder when making cookies, experiment with acids and bases, bake cookies. Free play, playground time and story time fill out this fun camp day.

(6-12 yrs.) Robots inspire campers to learn engineering and apply their basic science, model construction, computer programming, problem-solving skills, and knowledge to explore STEM concepts. Spark curiosity and deepen appreciation for science through engaging and hands-on learning experiences. Stemtree curriculum empowers campers to become confident scientific thinkers by exploring the core principles of science. Previous participants will continue learning new STEM concepts.

(5-8 yrs) Discover the solar system with The Science Seed. Campers will learn about the planets, orbiting, day and night and how shadows form. Space related crafts, games, free play, playground time, and story time completes the day. 

(5-8 yrs.) Explore the world of fossils and geology with The Science Seed. Erupt your own volcano, create and excavate a dino dig, explore real fossils, and make a cast of a real fossil. Round out the day with an outside break, a science-related story time and a daily journal entry.

(5-8 yrs.) Campers will learn about pizza and where all the ingredients come from with The Science Seed. They will experiment with yeast and make their own dough and pizzas. Free play, playground time, story time, and more fills out the day.

(5-11 yrs.) Explore different scientific concepts in this Baroody camp using food as the main vehicle for experimentation. Use ingredients to explain different ideas through simple recipes and make edible experiments to learn about reactions, acids and bases, biology and nutrition. Bring swimsuit/towel for afternoon pool break.

(6-12 yrs.) STEM exCEL Campers will use programming fundamentals to design and implement complex Minecraft in-game commands. Hands-on activities will take place at the beginning of camp that introduce vital concepts then use the easy drag-and-drop interface to create programs, solve problems and design games. Campers will learn functions, variables, and conditionals. Campers leave with a digital copy of their work. No camp December 24 and 25.

(6-12 yrs.) In this STEM exCEL camp, programming fundamentals will be taught to design and implement large-scale Minecraft modifications. Campers will engage in hands-on activities then will transition to easy to use drag-and-drop interface to create programs, solve problems and design games. Next, campers will learn functions, variables and conditionals.

(6-12 yrs.) Stemtree campers will code in either Python or Scratch based on their grade levels. Scratch is a highly visual programming language suitable for younger students. Python is one of the most popular programming languages used in data sciences and machine learning. Robots inspire campers to learn engineering, apply basic science, model construction, computer programming, problem-solving skills and knowledge to explore STEM concepts. Previous participants will continue learning new STEM concepts. No camp December 24 and 25.

(6-12 yrs.) Learn important problem-solving and design skills by using block coding and programming in Scratch to create your own 2D game. Using your skills you will utilize the more advanced Roblox Studio to create your own 3D game. STEM exCEL campers will learn how to build complex creations and compare the mechanics of a 2D game to a 3D game. Campers leave with a digital copy of their work.

(5-8 yrs.) Science Seed campers learn about sinking and floating by experimenting with different boat shapes to see which float better and will then design and make their own boat. Free play, playground time and story time complete the camp day.

(5 1/2-12 yrs.) Join Abrakadoodle and blast off to an outer space adventure. Create art that focuses on science, technology, engineering and math concepts. No camp December 24 and 25.

(5-7 yrs.) Campers will discover forensic science and learn the tricks of the spy trade. Investigate fingerprints, spying techniques (surveillance), secret codes, invisible ink, and other sneaky science in this Baroody camp.

(5-8 yrs.) In this not-so-volatile camp, The Science Seed campers explore the world of volcanoes. Learn how volcanoes form, the tools scientists use to monitor them, and the signs of an eruption. Make and erupt volcanoes and other exciting experiments. Free play, playground time and story time fills out this fun camp day.

(5-10 yrs.) Run by Katydid, Inc., campers will explore the farm and nature through hikes and farm visits (weather permitting) so dress for the weather. Indoor activities include history, science, arts and crafts, and games. Bring lunch, snack and drink. Held in the Old Floris Schoolhouse on the farm. Call with questions, 703-689-3104.
