The Fairfax County Park Authority offers a variety of activities such as classes, camps and tours in a wide variety of categories including aquatics, fitness, nature, dance, outdoor recreation, performing arts, history and many more. Special events, trips/tours and specialty workshops are listed in Parktakes, the Park Authority’s quarterly guide, available through free subscription to county citizens. .

Horseback Riding-Beginner (13-Adult)

For the student who has never taken lessons before and wants to learn the basics.

Horseback Riding-Beginner (6-12) NVTRP

In this class offered by NVTRP at O'Shaughnessy Farm, beginning riders learn horseback-riding fundamentals and basic horse care. ASTM/SEI riding helmet and full set of NVTRP paperwork required. Contact NVTRP for required paperwork after registering.

Horseback Riding-Beginner (8-14 yrs)

For the student who has never taken lessons and wants to learn the basics.

Therapeutic Horseback Riding (4-Adult)

Riders learn safe and effective horsemanship in an inclusive setting. Each lesson is tailored to the rider's abilities. Therapeutic riding students may need physician's approval to participate in classes.
