The Fairfax County Park Authority offers a variety of activities such as classes, camps and tours in a wide variety of categories including aquatics, fitness, nature, dance, outdoor recreation, performing arts, history and many more. Special events, trips/tours and specialty workshops are listed in Parktakes, the Park Authority’s quarterly guide, available through free subscription to county citizens. .

Friday Golf, Fitness & Fun (Adults)

Work off the winter blues at Pinecrest newly renovated indoor golf facility with Golf, Fitness, & Fun. Start the clinic with our TrackMan 4 golf simulator session followed by a Yoga and Golf Fitness session to help posture and breathing improve your game. After the clinic, enjoy light refreshments to round out the evening.


Get Golf Ready I (13-Adult)

This PGA-developed class introduces game fundamentals to new golfers. Grip, stance, set up and ball position are taught for putting, chipping and iron play along with hitting tee shots with hybrids and woods. A basic knowledge of golf equipment is included. Range balls are included in the class fee and loaner clubs are available. Final class is held on the golf course.


Get Golf Ready II (13-Adult)

Prerequisite: Get Golf Ready I. This course covers advanced topics for beginning golfers. Aim and alignment are introduced to putting, chipping and iron shots, and hybrids and woods are hit without a tee. Range balls are included in the class fee and loaner clubs are available. The final class is held on the golf course.


Get Golf Ready Parent/Child I (7-17 yrs)

This course covers grip, posture, ball position, alignment, chipping, putting and full swing fundamentals, as well as course orientation, etiquette, rules and basic understanding of equipment. Classes at Pinecrest are held indoors during inclement weather. Parent participate in class with registered child.


Get Golf Ready Parent/Child II 7-17 yrs

Prerequisite: Get Golf Ready Parent/Child I. Class is for those who want to further their golf skills through more advanced instruction while still emphasizing the basics. Range balls are included in the class fee and loaner clubs are available.


Get Golf Ready-Taking it to the Course

Prerequisite: Get Golf Ready II. This course transitions students onto the course to put their skills into action. Range balls are included in the class fee and loaner clubs are available.


Girls Junior Get Golf Ready I (7-12 yrs)

(7-12 yrs) This PGA-developed class introduces students to golf in a fun and friendly environment. Class focuses on fundamentals and step-by-step drills. Topics include grip, stance, target and balance. Range balls are included in the class fee and loaner clubs are available.


Girls Junior Get Golf Ready II (7-12 yrs)

(7-12 yrs) Group lessons covering additional rules, course etiquette, club grip, putting, stance and golf swing. Range balls are included in the class fee and loaner clubs are available.


Golf-Recovery Shots (13-Adult)

Prerequisite: Beginner Golf Ready or equivalent. Lessons focus on proper setup, club selection and recovering from trouble situations in addition to course management. Burke Lake uses uneven ramps on their heated, covered driving range to simulate course conditions.


Junior Get Golf Ready I (7-12 yrs)

This PGA-developed class introduces students to golf in a fun and friendly environment. Class focuses on fundamentals and step-by-step drills. Topics include grip, stance, target and balance. Range balls are included in the class fee and loaner clubs are available.


Junior Get Golf Ready II (7-12 yrs)

Group lessons covering additional rules, course etiquette, club grip, putting, stance and golf swing. Range balls are included in the class fee and loaner clubs are available.


Junior Get Golf Ready-Taking it to the Course 7-12

(7-12 yrs) Prerequisite: Junior Get Golf Ready II. This course transitions students onto the course to put their skills into action. Range balls are included in the class fee and loaner clubs are available.


Junior Golf Clinic-Intro (8-17 yrs)

This clinic covers golf rules and etiquette on a putting green. Topics covered include putting grip, stance, posture and distance control, chipping swing, club selection and distance control; and how to read greens.


Junior Irons Clinic (8-17 yrs)

This clinic covers hitting short and long irons on the driving range, grip, stance, posture, ball location and basic swing thoughts. Range balls included in class fee.


Junior Woods Clinic (8-17 yrs)

(8-17 yrs) This clinic covers hitting fairway woods and drivers on the driving range, as well as grip, stance, posture, ball location and basic swing thoughts. Range balls included in class fee.


Ladies Get Golf Ready I (13-Adult)

This ladies-only class is taught by a golf teaching professional and introduces game fundamentals to new golfers. Grip, stance, set up and ball position are taught for putting, chipping and irons along with hitting tee shots with hybrids and woods. A basic knowledge of golf equipment is included. Range balls are included in the class fee and loaner clubs are available. Final class is held on the golf course. ~


Ladies Get Golf Ready II (13-Adult

Prerequisite: Ladies Get Golf Ready I. This ladies-only class is taught by a golf teaching professional and covers advanced topics. SNAG II (5-7 yrs)

Prerequisite: SNAG I. Students review and expand upon fundamentals learned in SNAG I using additional training aids to reinforce proper technique. All equipment is provided and tennis shoes are recommended.
