The Fairfax County Park Authority offers a variety of activities such as classes, camps and tours in a wide variety of categories including aquatics, fitness, nature, dance, outdoor recreation, performing arts, history and many more. Amateur FootGolf Tournament (12-17 yrs)

(12-17 yrs) Are you ready to put your FootGolf skills to the test? Saturday, July 13 at 1:30 pm, Pinecrest will hold its first Amateur FootGolf Tournament as part of the Virginia Commonwealth Games. This fun and friendly competition welcomes seasoned (non-tour) players as well as beginners with categories for Juniors (ages 12-17), Women (ages 18+) Men (ages 18-45) and Senior Men (ages 46+)*. Rules will be self-enforced with guidance from tour players. If you can kick a ball you can compete in this FootGolf fiesta! All participants will also qualify for the State Games FootGolf Amateur competition to be held in Lynchburg, VA this year. Cost is $25 per player and includes 18 holes of FootGolf, goody bags and medals for the top 3 players in each category.

Get Golf Ready Boot Camp (13-Adult)

(13-Adult) Have you always wanted to learn how to golf but don’t have the time? Have a business meeting on the course and need to learn how to play quickly? This accelerated program will have you ready to swing on the links within five days. Perfect for working professionals as classes are held Monday through Friday nightly.


Get Golf Ready I (13-Adult)

This PGA-developed class introduces game fundamentals to new golfers. Grip, stance, set up and ball position are taught for putting, chipping and iron play along with hitting tee shots with hybrids and woods. A basic knowledge of golf equipment is included. Range balls are included in the class fee, and loaner clubs are available. Final class is held on the golf course.


Get Golf Ready II (13-Adult)

Prerequisite: Get Golf Ready I. This course covers advanced topics for beginning golfers. Aim and alignment are introduced to putting, chipping and iron shots, and hybrids and woods are hit without a tee. Range balls are included in the class fee, and loaner clubs are available. The final class is held on the golf course.


Get Golf Ready Parent/Child I (7-17 yrs)

This course covers grip, posture, ball position, alignment, chipping, putting and full-swing fundamentals. Course orientation, etiquette, rules and basic understanding of equipment are also covered. Classes at Pinecrest are held indoors during inclement weather. Parent participates in class with registered child.


Get Golf Ready Parent/Child II 7-17 yrs

Prerequisite: Get Golf Ready Parent/Child I. Class is for those who want to further their golf skills through more advanced instruction while still emphasizing the basics. Range balls are included in the class fee, and loaner clubs are available.


Girls Junior Get Golf Ready I (7-12 yrs)

(7-12 yrs) This PGA-developed class introduces students to golf in a fun and friendly environment. Class focuses on fundamentals and step-by-step drills. Topics include grip, stance, target and balance. Range balls are included in the class fee and loaner clubs are available.


Girls Junior Get Golf Ready II (7-12 yrs)

(7-12 yrs) Group lessons covering additional rules, course etiquette, club grip, putting, stance and golf swing. Range balls are included in the class fee and loaner clubs are available.


Golf Yoga Workshop (13-Adult)

(13-Adult) Do you need Yoga in your life but can’t make the weekly class commitment? This workshop helps you get in golf shape with breathing exercises and focus on flexibility. Learn balancing exercises that can improve stability, range of motion, rotation and posture.


Golf Yoga Workshop-Under the Stars (13-Adult)

(13-Adult) This workshop helps you get in golf shape with breathing exercises and focus on flexibility. Learn balancing exercises that can improve stability, range of motion, rotation and posture. Perfect for working golfers. Classes are held outdoors, weather permitting.


Golf-Recovery Shots (13-Adult)

Prerequisite: Beginner Golf Ready or equivalent. Lessons focus on proper setup, club selection and recovering from trouble situations in addition to course management. Burke Lake uses uneven ramps on its heated, covered driving range to simulate course conditions.


Junior Get Golf Ready I (7-12 yrs)

This PGA-developed class introduces students to golf in a fun and friendly environment. Class focuses on fundamentals and step-by-step drills. Topics include grip, stance, target and balance. Range balls are included in the class fee and loaner clubs are available.


Junior Get Golf Ready II (7-12 yrs)

Group lessons covering additional rules, course etiquette, club grip, putting, stance and golf swing. Range balls are included in the class fee and loaner clubs are available.


Junior Irons Clinic (8-17 yrs)

This clinic covers hitting short and long irons on the driving range, grip, stance, posture, ball location and basic swing thoughts. Range balls included in class fee.


Junior Woods Clinic (8-17 yrs)

(8-17 yrs) This clinic covers hitting fairway woods and drivers on the driving range, as well as grip, stance, posture, ball location and basic swing thoughts. Range balls included in class fee.


Ladies Get Golf Ready I (13-Adult)

This ladies-only class is taught by a golf teaching professional and introduces game fundamentals to new golfers. Grip, stance, set up and ball position are taught for putting, chipping and irons along with hitting tee shots with hybrids and woods. A basic knowledge of golf equipment is included. Range balls are included in the class fee and loaner clubs are available. Final class is held on the golf course. ~

SNAG II (5-7 yrs)

Prerequisite: SNAG I. Students review and expand upon fundamentals learned in SNAG I using additional training aids to reinforce proper technique. All equipment is provided and tennis shoes are recommended.


SNAG III (5-7 yrs)

Prerequisite: SNAG II. Students apply skills learned in SNAG II while playing simulated golf holes. Lessons focus on proper club selection, swing dynamics, scoring and course etiquette. All equipment is provided and tennis shoes are recommended.


SNAG IV (5-7 yrs)

(5-7 yrs) Prerequisite: SNAG III. This is taught with real clubs and balls and is designed for SNAG III graduates who do not meet the minimum age requirements for our Junior Get Golf Ready classes but are ready for advancement. Topics include grip, stance, target and balance. Last class goes out on course for two holes. Range balls included in class fee and loaner clubs are available.


Starting New at Golf (SNAG) (5-7 yrs)

Course covers basic golf elements in a modified form for kids. Children have fun using larger and more colorful clubs to increase confidence and coordination. All equipment is provided. Tennis shoes are recommended. Classes at Pinecrest are held indoors.
