The Fairfax County Park Authority offers a variety of activities such as classes, camps and tours in a wide variety of categories including aquatics, fitness, nature, dance, outdoor recreation, performing arts, history and many more. Special events, trips/tours and specialty workshops are listed in Parktakes, the Park Authority’s quarterly guide, available through free subscription to county citizens. .

Act Up! w/Robin Hood (7-14 yrs)

In this class offered by Moonlit Wings Productions young performers put on a production inspired by Howard Pyle's "The Merry Adventures of Robin Hood” while learning acting lessons. Robin and his friends must escape the Sheriff of Nottingham when caught stealing from the rich and giving to the poor. Class offers a variety of activities including improvisation games, character creation and more. Family and friends are invited to a mini-performance on the final class.


Acting for Adults (Adults)

In this class offered by Moonlit Wings Productions adults explore intensive audition technique for film and television, then perform for one special industry guest at the final class. Each week features new lessons in on-camera acting with modern scripts and constructive coaching by professional NYC & DC teaching artists. Students will experience what it's like both in the audition room and on-set. During the final class, scenes will be recorded during the mini-performance. Supply fee of $30 payable at first class.


Acting-On Camera Kids (7-14 yrs)

In this class offered by Moonlit Wings Productions kids act with original scripts inspired by shows and films from Disney, Nick, Netflix and more. Each week features new lessons in on-camera acting plus creative games and exercises. Young performers of all levels will experience what it's like both in the audition room and on-set in an exciting and supportive environment. Parents are invited to the final class for a mini-performance at which scenes will be recorded. Students receive a private video link to download their scene. Supply Fee of $30 payable to instructor at first class.


Acting-Teens Only! (12-16 yrs)

In this class offered by Moonlit Wings Productions teens act with original scripts inspired by shows and films from Netflix, TeenNick, MTV and more! Each week features new lessons in on-camera acting and creative challenges. Actors of all skill levels are directed by professional NYC & DC teaching artists and experience what it's like both in the audition room and on-set. Parents are invited to the final class for a mini-performance at which scenes will be recorded. Students receive a private video link to download their scene. Supply Fee of $30 payable to instructor at first class.


All-Star Improv Party (7-14 yrs)

(7-14 yrs) In this class, offered by Moonlit Wings Productions, everything is made up and no class is ever the same as young performers create hilarious improvised scenes. Explore character creation, from superheroes to familiar fairy tale friends, and original plot lines using acting games and theatrical activities. Create hilarious skits and sketches, always made up on-the-spot, like on "Whose Line is it Anyway" or "SNL."


Banjo I (10-Adult)

Learn to play, tune and care for your banjo. Students must furnish their own instrument. Any supply fees are payable to instructor at first class.


Banjo II (10-Adult)

Prerequisite: Banjo I. Students must furnish their own instrument. Any supply fees are payable to instructor at first class.


Dramatic Kids (7-10 yrs)

(7-10 yrs) In this theatre arts class, offered by Care Actor, students awaken creativity and boost self-confidence. Each week students explore their imagination and artistic talents by participating in fun, improvisational acting games and theatrical techniques while learning dramatic storytelling fundamentals. This class provides a fun and dynamic space to build courage and character. On the last day of class, students perform their original work for friends and family.


Guitar I (10-Adult)

Learn to play, tune and care for your guitar. Students must furnish their own instrument. Any supply fees are payable to instructor at first class.
