The Fairfax County Park Authority offers a variety of activities such as classes, camps and tours in a wide variety of categories including aquatics, fitness, nature, dance, outdoor recreation, performing arts, history and many more. Special events, trips/tours and specialty workshops are listed in Parktakes, the Park Authority’s quarterly guide, available through free subscription to county citizens. .

Adult Indoor Tennis (Adults)

Adult Tennis I (Adults)

In this small-group class, offered by First Serve Tennis, players new to the game learn fundamental strokes: forehand, backhand, volleys, overhead and serve. Students build consistency in the groundstrokes and develop an initial ability to rally. Students are encouraged to repeat this class until they can consistently put the ball in play. ~


Adult Tennis II (Adults)

In this small-group class, offered by First Serve Tennis, players with limited on-court experience strengthen stroke fundamentals and develop the movement, positioning and skills necessary for initial singles and doubles match play. For players who have completed Tennis I or have similar experience.


Archery I (13-Adult)

Learn archery basics by following the 11 Steps of Success taught in the USA Archery National Training System. Determine your dominate eye, develop your technique using a string bow, and practice international style target shooting using a recurve bow and a compound bow. Supply fee of $10 payable to instructor at first class.


Baseball I (6-12 yrs)

This class teaches basic skills and game rules. Scrimmages give you experience preparing for league teams. Participants need to bring their own glove.


Basketball I (11-13 yrs)

Children learn basketball skills and techniques including passing, shooting, dribbling and other fundamentals. Class includes scrimmages to reinforce teamwork. Classes at Lake Accotink Park are outdoors.


Basketball I (6-8 yrs)

Children learn basketball skills and techniques including passing, shooting, dribbling and other fundamentals. Class includes scrimmages to reinforce teamwork. Classes at Providence and Lake Accotink Park meet outdoors.


Basketball I (8-10 yrs)

Children learn basketball skills and techniques including passing, shooting, dribbling and other fundamentals. Class includes scrimmages to reinforce teamwork. Classes at Providence and Lake Accotink Park meet outdoors.


Basketball II (10-12 yrs)

Learn a variety of offensive and defensive strategies in this advanced class.
