Archery Camp at Burke Lake (9-13 yrs.)

(9-13 yrs.) Develop archery skills using Olympic-style (recurve) bows. Through focused instruction, learn shooting techniques and attention to detail. Campers also enjoy mini-golf, nature hikes along the lakefront and other outdoor activities. Camp operation is subject to weather and is held at the archery field to the right as you enter the park. No camp July 3.


Bug Bingo

(3-Adult) Hike with a naturalist to learn about different insects’ behavior and habitats. Explore the park to fill out bingo sheets to better appreciate the tiny workers around us.


Full Moon Nature Hike and Campfire

(6-Adult) Enjoy nature's tranquil beauty and the night sky under a full moon. Take a hike through the woods to listen and look for signs of nocturnal animals that may be flying overhead or stirring beneath our feet. Enjoy a campfire after the hike with s'mores provided. Children must be accompanied by a registered adult.


Hike with a Naturalist

(8-Adult) Join our park naturalist on a hike and explore wild plants and animals throughout the trails. Learn how to use the iNaturalist app to take pictures of things you find along the way. Smart phones, cameras and binoculars welcome. Each hike will feature a different theme and may include: salamanders, birds and other wildlife, wildflowers, trees, nature photography, cultural history, or a scenic destination.


Lakeside Nature Discovery Camp (7-10yrs)

(7-10 yrs.) Campers enjoy guided nature hikes, crafts, fishing and boat rides (boats vary depending on availability and may include kayak, rowboat, tour boat). Shaded trails and lakefronts are perfect settings for exploring creatures and plants that live in our streams, lakes and forests. Burke Lake meets at shelter C. Camps run rain or shine. Contact the park for details on extreme weather days. No camp July 3.


Night Hike with a Naturalist

(4-Adult) Enjoy a night hike with a naturalist to learn about nocturnal wildlife. Learn about adaptations animals have to help them hunt and stay safe in the dark. Children must be accompanied by an adult registered in the program.
