Adult 4 (14-Adult)

(14-Adult) Students focus on refining forward outside and inside edges, mastering forward crossovers, backward one-foot glides, backward half-swizzle pumps on a circle, and learn how to hockey stop with control. Prerequisite: Adult 3.


Basic 5 (6-13 yrs)

(6-13 yrs) Skills include skating backward on the outside edge on a circle, skating backward on the inside edge on a circle, backward crossovers, forward outside three-turn, advanced two-foot spin, hockey stops and other ice skating skills geared toward balance, movement and coordination. Prerequisite: Basic 4.


GameBots (7-12 yrs.)

(7-12 yrs.) Calling all gamers! Have a blast learning how to code while building robotic games to test your code in this Snapology class. Students learn about sequencing commands, value and sensor inputs and loops. Whether creating a robotic hockey player, pinball machine or a ring toss, your child is sure to have fun building, learning and playing.


Hockey 1 (14-Adult)

(14-Adult) This class focuses on ice hockey fundamentals including proper balance and correct hockey skating technique. Students need hockey skates, hockey gloves, a helmet and a correctly sized stick. Prerequisite: Introduction to Hockey. Please note: This class focuses on building strong hockey skating fundamentals and agility, all skills taught without a puck.


Hockey 1 (6-Adult)

(6-Adult) This class focuses on ice hockey fundamentals including proper balance and correct hockey skating technique. Students need hockey skates, hockey gloves, a helmet and a hockey stick. Prerequisite: Hockey 1. Students need hockey skates, hockey gloves, a helmet and a hockey stick. Prerequisite: Hockey 2. Please note: This class focuses on building strong hockey skating fundamentals and agility, all skills taught without a puck.

Intro to Hockey (6-Adult)

(6-Adult) For students who have never played ice hockey before. This class helps students develop the preliminary coordination and strength necessary for hockey. Students learn basic elements which provide a solid foundation for more advanced skills. Students need hockey skates, hockey gloves and a helmet. Prerequisite: Snowplow Sam 3 or Basic 2. Please note: This class focuses on building strong hockey skating fundamentals and agility, all skills taught without a puck.


Off Ice Conditioning Hockey (6-Adult)

(6-Adult) Skaters build strength, speed, agility and endurance to enhance on-ice performance. Athletes develop explosive power, quick footwork, balance and coordination through sport-specific drills, while improving skating mechanics and body awareness. Training may also include reaction time and stickhandling, supporting faster skating, stronger play, and injury prevention for all levels. Prerequisite: Intro to Hockey.


Pickup Hockey

Reserve your ticket for a Pickup Hockey session. Pickup Hockey is an unofficiated, non-contact/no check scrimmage hockey game. Please limit time on ice to two minutes per shift. First 2 goalies are free (max 3) and do not need to reserve a ticket. Goalie tickets are first come, first serve and granted at the Rec Center. Pucks are supplied by the Rec Center. Those with a 10 visit Specialty Session Pass, call the recenter at 703-768-3224 to reserve your spot. 16 years & older. Full gear required including neck protection. All participants are required to wear a hockey helmet.
