(16-Adult) Introduction to the basics of handbuilt pottery: pinch pots, slab and coil construction will be taught to make functional and abstract pieces. Basic glazing and surface design will be taught to create texture and color on the work. A beginning pottery tool kit is required. Class fee includes 25 lbs. of clay and three hours of lab time. Cancellation of a pottery class on or after the first class will result in a $75 nonrefundable fee for program materials and supply costs.
(6-9 yrs) Introduction to clay and the pottery-making process using hand-building methods. Make pinch pots and learn coiling, slab work techniques, painting, glazing and firing.

(13-17 yrs.) Learn to create pottery and clay forms using the pottery wheel and handbuilt techniques. The basics of wheel throwing as well as the basics of handbuilding (pinch pots, coils, and slabs) will be taught. Pieces will be decorated with glazes for color.
