Creative Lettering Workshop (16-Adult)

(16-Adult) Have fun learning creative lettering styles including cursive, decorative, free-style and typographic. Artist Caroline Hottenstein explores lettering throughout history and assists you in making small lettering compositions using pencil, micron pens, colored pencils and a nib pen.


Drawing Workshop - Trees and Leaves

(Adults) Use your basic drawing skills to accurately render realistic drawings of trees and their leaves. Artist and instructor Caroline Hottenstein shows you how to use the media of your choice - a micron pen, watercolor, graphite, or colored pencils to capture and highlight details. Previous drawing experience encouraged. A supply list will be emailed before class. Bring a lunch.


Floral Design Workshop - Summer Garden Design

(16-Adult) Create an eye-catching summer vase arrangement with Green Spring horticulturist Parker Jennings. Using florals from the garden, mix balance, scale, proportion and contrast to create a summer design. Please register for the program and $45 supply fee.


Ikebana Floral Design Workshop (Adults)

(Adults) Discover the elegance and simplicity of Ikebana, the traditional Japanese art of flower arranging. Alice Buch, 2nd Degree Master of the Ohara School, teaches you the basic techniques and principles of Ikebana while demonstrating a Hana Isho Rising Form arrangement that you will then get to make yourself. Supplies included a plastic container, kenzan and flowers. Participants are encouraged to bring their own flower scissors. No prior experience necessary. Please register for both the class and the $30 supply fee.


Juneteenth Smudge Stick Floral Workshop

(Adults) This Juneteenth join BLK FLWR MRKT, a local black woman owned business, in making a floral smudge stick – sometimes known as a smoke wand. Smudge sticks, a bundle of botanicals burned for aroma, have been used by many cultures throughout the world to cleanse and purify both physical spaces and mental energies. Learn about the specially selected herbs and flowers you will use and the historical and cultural importance they hold for Black Americans. Engage your inner-self through writing affirmations, inner-child games and blindfolded sensory activities.


Seasonal Fairy Garden Workshop (Adults)

(Adults) Create a one-of-a-kind fairy garden scene out of natural materials with the help of instructor Bailey Price. Go on a guided walk to find inspiration and collect items from nature to work with. Learn how to build miniature furniture using hot glue and natural materials such as dried plants, acorns, twigs and bark. Feel free to bring fairy garden pieces from home to incorporate in your design. Register for both the class and the $35 supply fee. Bring a box or container that will help you transport your creation home.  


Watercolor Workshop - Orchids (16-Adult)

(16-Adult) Some subjects just scream to be painted in watercolors and orchids are one of those subjects. Taught by botanical artist Dawn Flores, plan and execute an orchid-inspired painting. Information on orchid anatomy, lessons on color, and a variety of watercolor techniques and transfer practices are presented. Orchid owners may bring in their own specimen or work from photographs provided by the instructor. This class is appropriate for any skill level. A supply list will be emailed before class. Bring a lunch.


Watercolor Workshop - Using Grids Creatively

(Adults) In this class you will use a grid to turn your drawings and/or photographs into a creative composition with the direction of artist and instructor Marni Maree. Then you will use watercolor to paint it. A supply list will be emailed before class. Bring a lunch.


Watercolor Workshop - Watercolor and Ink

(16-Adult) Learn to use ink pens with your watercolor paintings. Artist Marni Maree will introduce you to a variety of pens and inking techniques. Draw with ink and then add watercolors. Try adding ink lines to finished paintings and watch your work transform. You will be surprised at how you can make an ok painting great by adding ink. A supply list will be emailed before class. Bring a lunch.


Watercolor Workshop-Monet & Waterlilies (16-Adult)

(16-Adult) Monet made a huge contribution to the world of art with his monumental waterlily paintings. Artist and instructor Dawn Flores will inspire you with Monet's use of color, horizon lines, reflections and water surface. Working directly from photographs, you will create your own expressions in watercolor while learning a variety of painting techniques, including special effects such as glazing, dry-brush, wet on wet, washes and more. A supply list will be emailed before class. Bring a lunch.
