(7-14 yrs.) In this Moonlit Wings camp, young performers enjoy acting games, improvisation activities, creative challenges, and a Talent Showcase while building confidence, creativity, and teamwork. Campers are invited to bring a family-friendly talent to share with the group, such as a song or dance, a portable musical instrument (smaller than they are), a magic trick, craft or artwork, collection or show-and-tell item, jokes, poetry, or another special talent. Sharing a talent is encouraged but optional, and all experience levels are welcome. Bring swimsuit/towel for afternoon pool break.

(10-Adult) Come enjoy a little creative time in the wild through poetry and drawing outdoors! Join naturalist and artist Margaret Wohler as we combine writing exercises and basic drawing skills to create a field page filled with images and words describing the Huntley wetlands and woods. Families are welcome. All drawing materials will be provided. 

(16-Adult) Explore with poet Lisa Lowry a variety of poetic forms, from formal verse to free verse, and learn how structure writing poems can shape meaning and emotion. Drawing inspiration from the garden's architectural elements and design, you'll consider how form in both landscapes and poetry can enhance expression. Then write your own poem using a form that speaks to you and share your work if you wish.

(16-Adult) Discover how poets capture the many expressions of love through the beauty of nature. Join poet Lisa Lowry as you explore how vivid details from the natural world can deepen and enrich poetic expressions of love. Through discussion and creative prompts, you’ll write poems of your own and have the opportunity to share your work in a supportive and inspiring setting.

Read and discuss poems that highlight this intersection then craft your own poems that capture the complexity, beauty, and sometimes tension of these interactions.

(16-Adult) Take a deeper look at poetry that incorporates gardens, nature and landscape with poet Lisa Lowry. Focus on how small details in these poems add depth and meaning. Then discuss how to edit your poems for publication. Students may bring poems from previous sessions for feedback.
