The Fairfax County Park Authority offers a variety of activities such as classes, camps and tours in a wide variety of categories including aquatics, fitness, nature, dance, outdoor recreation, performing arts, history and many more. Farm Skills- Animal Caretaker

(7-14) Our farmers make taking care of the animals look easy. Here is your chance for a behind the scenes farm tour to see all the hard work that goes into raising our farm animals. Participants tour our feed room, visit our animal areas, meet farm animals, and learn the different management practices that we use to keep the animals happy and healthy. One adult must attend with a registered child in this program.


Snake and Turtle Feeding

(4-Adult) Enjoy a brief presentation and demonstration by our animal caretaker staff. At least one snake, two turtles and a toad will be fed. Children must be accompanied by a registered adult.


Wildlife Caretakers (6-11 yrs.)

Have you ever wanted to work at a nature center? Go behind the scenes to set up tanks and ensure the health of exhibit animals. Venture into the park to participate in wildlife surveys and habitat projects. Download camp forms from website.
